This Says Enough

There are very few songs that make me cry, but this song got me and punched me in the gut. So, I decided to do what I do best, write about it.

The song I listened to is called “Explaining Jesus” by Jordy Searcy. One of the beginning as well as the last lyrics in the song is, “We paint our pride and call it truth. I’m sorry no one explained Jesus to you.”

This line says a lot.

Jesus doesn’t judge nor condemn, instead He loves us regardless of what we have done.

We as Christians are called to love the way Christ loves us. I’m sorry if you’ve had an experience or heard of an experience where a Christian was anything but loving.

There’s no secret that in today’s day and age, people are hurting and need healing. People don’t need to hear harsh words all the time.

The world is filled with broken people and people who need healing, hope, and love. We’re all broken or have been once before. No one is exempt from that truth.

I apologize if you have ever felt like Jesus doesn’t love you because you’re unworthy of love because of mistakes you’ve made or because you question if He exists.

I apologize if you have the wrong idea of Christianity because someone rubbed you the wrong way. The purpose of being a Christian (a committed follower of Christ) is to love unconditionally while telling others about unconditional love and who He is, Jesus.

I’m sorry if I’m the first Christian who you may be hearing this from.

I can promise you, there’s hope.

Jesus died and rose for you so that you don’t have to feel shame, rejection, fear, but love. Unconditional love that will never leave your side.

You who may be broken.

You who may be tired and restless.

You who may be anxious and fearful.

Find rest in Jesus.

Like the song says, “I’m sorry no one explained Jesus to you.”

Maybe I’ve explained Jesus to you, and I can only hope you’ll read and listen.

I hope you’ll accept Him into your heart and experience what true, authentic, unconditional love is and what it feels like.

A verse of encouragement for anyone who needs it: “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
